Cf_atl_876 Jonathan does "chest to the bar" on his pull-ups.  Applying this standard to your pull-ups will speed up the day you get your 1st muscle-up

This month's issue of the CrossFit Journal has a an interesting article:

Tony Leyland, "Human Power Output and CrossFit Metcon Workouts" - From the beginning, CrossFit has unorthodoxly enjoined us to "strive to blur distinctions between 'cardio' and strength training." But, for university exercise physiologist Tony Leyland, that flies in the face of much of the accepted knowledge in his field and raises a plethora of tough questions. How is that "blurring" possible given that strength/power training and cardiovascular training are at different ends of the power spectrum? How do CrossFit's signature "metcon" workouts, in particular, work--and work so effectively? What are the mechanisms? Join the good professor as he continues on his mission of trying to peer under the lid of that inscrutable black box

One explanation may lie in the investigations of George Brooks and his team at UCLA.  Their hypothesis is a metabolic pathway by which lactic acid is used as a fuel.

I am so glad I made it back home in time to watch a news report of brangelina's freaking newborn twins. I was hoping I could watch it live. Freddie Mac does not have anything on the TWINS!

Did the workout 19;52 (slow for younger ones--good workout for me.

The article is nice and all, but it doesn't answer the real fitness question: How much can you curl?

casey, the iPhone is pretty kick ass. The 3g is really fast and often comparable with wireless. The gps works really well outside and in cars but in buildings it can't catch a signal. I am thinking because it needs a straight shot to the satelitte. Overall I'd say that if you need a faster phone because you aren't around wireless much or if you get lost a lot get the new one. If not just stick with the first version and get 2.0. But this thing is so amazing compared to any other phone.

Marie, how much does it cost without an ATT contract?

you can go to AT&T wireless to find the plans they have for minutes. You can use any minute plan but have to pay an extra 30 dollars for data if you have the new 3g iPhone.

oh ant you can't get it without an att contract.
