Workout of the Day
30 Clean and Jerk for time.
155 lbs for men, 100 lbs for women.
We are having a great time at the games. The new pullup standard of touching your chest to the bar has added minutes to everyone's Fran times. No one went under 3 minutes and very few went under 4 minutes. This will be the new standard for pullups at CrossFit Atlanta.
Mike G. got leg cramps during the run, which is a brutal hill, and it cost him about 20 seconds. He is in 27th place and has a chance to climb back into the top 20 with today's workout.

No way...the new standard? Seriously?
Is this going to be across the board for Crossfit, if so all pull up workouts just got 10 times harder. They weren't easy to begin with.

Suck it up...it's the new standard. Well guys, Crossfit punishes weakness and thye founf mine. The running event has taken me out of the top 20, but its not over. I'm only 20 seconds out of top 20. I can make that up in the last event.

Good luck Mike! We all know you can do it.
By the times, Speal looks like an absolute monster. How the hell does he do that?

Good job Mike. and good luck on that last event.
lol Roy. Possible back to the drawing board for me too.
Thanks Sean on the DL form tips.
I did the 5 rounds of 5 DL (65kg) and 10 burpees in 16 plus minutes. I am hoping when its less humid and cooler my times will be a lot faster.

Hadn't been in a 1 1/2 weeks...am still learning how to kip, so I think getting my chin to the bar will have to suffice for now...glad you guys are having a great time out there...good luck! :)
Sean-thanks for manning the gym this week/weekend!
D...thanks for pushing me through the workouts today...miss working out w/you!:(
I did the 30 clean and jerks in 4:58, with 20.5 KG...think I'm getting better, since this is the first time I've bruised my upper thighs....then did pull up ladder...10 rounds plus 6 pullups (ONE at at time still!)
Missed all of you...see ya in the AM!

Correction...Michael's workout Wednesday was 100 pushups, 100 situps, and he did 100 squats for time....still administering aspirin...I think a bit TOO many pushups for his 4th CF workout... good news is he managed to bike for 42 miles, with EXTREMELY sore triceps...

So the consensus is that the Games standard is filtering down? Makes sense. I need to get back to work on my reverse butterfly. It might come in handy

I did the WOD, but with 135# instead of 155#. Really tried to focus on form (with Sean's much appreciated help and technique critiques). Total time - 15:37.
My wrists hurt.
