CrossFit is, quite simply, a sport-the "sport of fitness."
We've learned that harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition, and fun of sport or game yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means.
"Some female scientists protested that they themselves would be marginalized if a quota system revived the old stereotype that women couldn’t compete on even terms in science."
That is what would concern me. It happens even now; men with ego problems assume that females were hired to diversify a workplace, rather than for their intelligence and skills. Also women would have to work harder and do more than men to prove their mettle.
I think they should not be concerned with numbers or ratios but rather with fair treatment of women in these fields already.
So, to start, I have avoided box jumps, wall balls, etc due to waiting on MRI results on my knee. Well, now that I have a clean bill of heath, apparently my mind has gone to crap!
I attempted the Fifty 50 this morning, bright of me, I know.
Not doing most of those movements definitely took it it's toll.
However, all was not lost. Even though I was 1 min longer than last time, I used heavier weights this time: 16K kettle, 14lb wall ball and 45lb PP.

Crossfit helped me catch the bus this morning. It was a grueling 400m sprint, but in the end I was victorious. Had I not been going to crossfit, and been in worse shape, I may not have made it to work today, I may even have been fired. By the transitive property crossfit keeps people from declaring bankruptcy.
I don't know how u did it Chuck, I can barely walk let alone run my legs hurt so bad from filthy. So last week I needed to get from point A to point B a distance of about 800m and I thot...hmmm.. why don't i lunge walk it...still hurtN...still dont know what i was thinking...please tell me i'm not the only one with bright ideas....
Charlie,
You're a grown man with an engineering degree and a job. No wife, no children. So, unless your license has been revoked for too many DUIs, you should not be chasing buses. Buy a car.
Nice pics, Dan. Thank God there are no mirrors at CrossFit! If I knew what my hair looked like every time I did a pull-up, I might start having second thoughts.
Nice guess on the pic yesterday Dan! You see me once in a blue moon and got it, when I have clients that see me everyday not get it.

Anyone from college remember Title IX? After screwing up sports, the title is now going after science.

Jessi, I'm sure you read my post earlier. You are NOT alone on the bright ideas! Guess we're full of them this week!

Dan, I did this workout from the Armstrong Pull-up programme on Monday:

Why the rather sudden posting of one of Armstrong's workouts?
